Known as the miniature continent for its variety of landscapes, this island contains almost all ecosystems that can be found in the rest of the Canary archipelago.

From Maspalomas dunes in the south of the island, passing through the humid and green landscape in the north with places like Moya or Fontanales, a whole radial network of ravines with infinite shapes and colors and a majestic summit in the central part of the island with nature protected areas such as Pinar (Pine forest) de Tamadaba or Roque Nublo, emblematic nature monument of Gran Canaria.

Volcanology has also a mention on this island with places such as the impressive Caldera de Tejeda or Caldera de Bandama.
